Fashion today is no longer just about fleeting trends but about meaning, purpose, and sustainability. As the global fashion industry evolves, consumers are seeking timeless clothing that not only looks good but also feels good to wear and own. Minimalist aesthetics, ethical practices, and environmentally conscious choices are shaping the new face of modern wardrobes. Against this backdrop, independent labels rooted in authenticity and responsibility are gaining more recognition and respect. SODE is one such brand, born from a vision of simple beauty, fair production, and the joy of mindful dressing.

A Philosophy Rooted in Simplicity and Comfort
For SODE, clothing is more than design. It is about creating uncomplicated pieces that allow people to move freely while feeling at ease. Inspired by the minimalist style of Japan, the brand focuses on wide, flowing silhouettes that can be layered and combined in many ways. The garments are timeless, designed for everyday wear, and reduced to essential cut lines that prioritize comfort and individuality.
Convenience remains central to SODE’s philosophy. Each piece is noble yet easy to wear, reflecting a quiet elegance that resists overcomplication. Produced in limited editions of only 10 to 20 pieces, the collections encourage mindful consumption and personal expression. This approach ensures that every garment carries uniqueness, intimacy, and an inspiring sense of ownership.

Local Production With Fair Practices
SODE’s commitment to ethical fashion extends to how and where it produces. All garments are made in Switzerland, keeping production local and transparent. The sewing factory IDM in Thun, the designer’s hometown, and Punto 301 in Ticino, a company run by three young women, handle the construction of fabric pieces. Knitted designs are crafted at Textil AG Huttwil using certified yarns, while linen knitwear sources flax directly from the Emmental region.
By working closely with small producers, SODE ensures shorter transport routes and builds meaningful connections with partners. This direct collaboration reflects the brand’s dedication to fairness, transparency, and respect for craftsmanship. The result is clothing that supports local communities and honors traditional expertise while remaining modern and wearable.

Thoughtful Materials and a Designer’s Journey
The brand’s material choices are carefully considered. SODE works with natural, biodegradable fabrics such as organic cotton, hemp, linen, wool, and Tencel. Whenever possible, the label uses high-quality remnants from other designers, reducing waste and giving these textiles new life. This balance of resourcefulness and sustainability reflects a deep awareness of the impact fashion has on the environment.
Behind SODE is Carla Lehmann, a designer from Thun who studied fashion at the Swiss Textile School in Zurich. With ten years of experience in the textile industry as both designer and product manager, she launched her own label in 2019. Her vision was clear: to create timeless, sustainable fashion with fairness and simplicity at its heart. SODE is her answer to a world where fashion can inspire not only style but also conscience and connection.
