In an age where technology feels fast, disposable, and endlessly upgraded, the audio and lifestyle design industry is quietly moving in another direction. People are craving objects with soul. Products that feel human, lasting, and emotionally meaningful. Craft, sustainability, and storytelling are no longer niche values. They are shaping the future of how we listen, live, and connect with music.
Within this evolving space, SoundCube emerges not as just another speaker brand, but as a deeply personal response to mass production. Rooted in Swiss heritage and built with intention, SoundCube blends history, craftsmanship, and modern sound into a product that does more than play music. It tells a story.
From Chalet Wood To Emotional Design.
SoundCube was founded in late 2025 by Patrick Drenkelforth, a wood technology project manager working with reclaimed timber from historic Swiss alpine houses and chalets. Much of this wood is over 100 years old, shaped by hand and weathered by decades of mountain life. In most restoration projects, the smaller leftover pieces are usually treated as waste. Patrick saw something else.
Instead of burning or discarding them, he imagined giving these fragments a second life. SoundCube was born from that idea. Each music box is made from reclaimed chalet wood that once formed the roofs and walls of Swiss homes. Some pieces come from the sunny side of a house, others from the wind and rain battered side. Those differences show up as natural textures, tones, and character. No two SoundCubes are ever the same.
Craftsmanship Meets Modern Audio.

Patrick did not set out to create just a speaker. His goal was to build something emotional. A SoundCube is as much about memory and atmosphere as it is about sound quality. Inside every handcrafted wooden cube is a high quality audio system that delivers rich bass and clarity. Whether it is piano, acoustic music, spoken word, or a party playlist, SoundCube is designed to perform across moods and genres.
What truly sets the brand apart is personalization. Customers can engrave names, lyrics, messages, or even portraits of musicians, personal icons, or meaningful symbols onto their SoundCube. The product becomes a reflection of what someone loves. Music, identity, and memory come together in one object. It is not just something you listen to. It is something you relate to.
Sustainability, Storytelling, And The Future Of Sound.

SoundCube works in partnership with restoration projects that already handle historic reclaimed wood. This allows valuable material to be reused instead of wasted. Sustainability here is not a marketing concept. It is built into the origin of every product.
Right now, SoundCube is being brought to life through a Kickstarter campaign, where early supporters are helping turn working prototypes into a finished, scalable product. This campaign is not just about funding. It is about community.
Until 4 February, you can support SoundCube on Kickstarter and help make the biggest impact possible:

Every contribution helps SoundCube grow, refine production, and bring these handcrafted music boxes into more homes around the world.
After 4 February, SoundCube will be available directly via the official website:
Patrick’s long term vision goes even further. One day, customers may be able to send in wood from their own trees or family properties. A tree from a childhood garden could become a music box that literally plays personal history.

In Patrick’s words, SoundCube is not just a product. It is a way to make memories audible.
